EVAC Vacuum Components
General Information Chain Clamps

EVAC chain clamps provide for the rapid interconnection of two pipes using a tapered flange. Intermediate seals centre the pipes, forming a vacuum-tight connection. Because the pressure points around the circumference of the flanges are precisely defined, equal distribution of the tightening force is guaranteed.

Thanks to the use of suitable materials, such connections are generally no larger than fixed-flange couplings.

In addition, the chain clamp's flexibility and space requirements allow their use even in locations where other types of connectors cannot be used. This opens up new fields of application.

Although the chains are made in a standard range of dimensions, a special advantage of their construction is that any required diameter can be manufactured without becoming prohibitively expensive.

The complete system has been designed for a large range of diameters and forces. Therefore, it is possible to adapt the system to meet many special requirements for tightening force, excessive pressure and materials by combining standardized individual components in the appropriate manner.

Thus, the main advantages of EVAC chain clamps are as follows:

Their high tightening force.

The equal distribution of this force.

Their simple and rapid connection and disconnection capability.

Their low space requirements and their ability to be fitted in hard-to-reach places.

Their highly versatile arrangement.
